CINCINNATI - The UC Athletics administration, coaches, support staff, and over 800 UCATS members set sail on the Belle of Cincinnati on June 23, 2009 for the 25th Annual UCATS Riverboat Cruise. The record-setting crowd was welcomed by perfect weather and a Monte Carlo themed night, which provided an opportunity for attendees to win Bearcat Bucks and one of more than a dozen prize packs.
B & B Riverboats and the Bernstein family have supported UCATS and Bearcat Athletics for a quarter-century by sponsoring the annual event. In honor of their generosity and dedication, UC Director of Athletics Mike Thomas presented Captain Alvin Bernstein with a UC Basketball Jersey bearing the Bernstein name and the number 25. The Bernstein's were also presented gifts from each of the UC varsity athletics programs.
The Annual UCATS Riverboat Cruise is free to all UCATS members and one guest. Attendees have an opportunity to mix and mingle with Bearcat coaches and administration, while being treated to a complimentary buffet and cash bar.
UCATS is the principal fundraising arm of UC Athletics, which provides financial support for student-athlete scholarships and special needs of Bearcats Athletics.
