CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati Athletics Ticket Office has sold all 1,768 seats in the Bearcats Lair section with just over eight weeks remaining before UC's season opener on Saturday, Sept. 12 versus Southeast Missouri State at Nippert Stadium.

Located above the north end zone, the Bearcats Lair section has seen remarkable growth in the last five years, going from 10 tickets sold in 2005, to 150 in 2006, and selling out the last three years (2007, '08, and `09).

Once viewed as the dead spot of Nippert Stadium, the fans that have adopted this branded area have made themselves a loud and intimidating force for the Bearcats on the field. Resourceful patrons have made the most of the acoustics of Nippert Stadium, causing turmoil for the opposition when UC's foes are backed in deep on the scoreboard end of the stadium. The Lair is also the main reason why ESPN College Gameday's Kirk Herbstreit referred to the atmosphere as "a hostile Nippert Stadium" during the2008 campaign.

"There is no doubt that the Bearcat Lair is a 12th man on the field for our team" said two-time BIG EAST Coach of the Year Brian Kelly. "I am glad that I do not have to come into this stadium as a visiting head coach, because t he environment that is created here is truly second to none, as our fans are so close to the action."

Six different ticket plans are available, providing Bearcats football fans the opportunity to see the defending BIG EAST Champions for one of the best values in the city or across the nation.

This season, UC welcomes in one of its best slates of opponents to Nippert Stadium. UC will play host to Illinois (Big Ten), Fresno State (WAC) and Southeast Missouri State, as well as three exciting BIG EAST matchups against West Virginia, Louisville, and Connecticut.

"We're pleased the Bearcats Lair has sold out for the third straight year," Senior Associate Director of Athletics Mike Waddell said. "UC is excited to offer a wide array of ticketing options available to please fans of all ages and budgets as we are committed to making sure that our patrons have the best value possible to see our championship football program."

Ticket Packages can be purchased online at CATSTIX.com or by calling 1-877-CATS-TIX. Orders can also be placed in person at the UC Athletics Ticket office, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. The ticket office is located on the fourth floor of the Richard E. Lindner Athletics Center.

Certain designated seating sections require a UCATS donation ranging from $50-50,000, depending on which section and plan fans choose, while ticket prices will range from $160 to $282 per seat. All fans are encouraged to review the 2009 football ticket playbook at GoBEARCATS.com which features complete detailed information regarding tickets and game day activities.
