CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati junior Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Philippines/Miriam College) qualified for the United States Golf Association Women's Amateur Championships, which will be held on Aug. 3-9 at the Old Warson Country Club in St. Louis, Mo.
Dela Paz finished in a tie for fourth at a qualifying event at the Sapora Country club in Lexington, N.C., on July 21, firing a 71.
The U.S. Women's Amateur is conducted with 36 holes of stroke-play qualifying. The low 64 scorers then advance to match play, with the champion determined by a 36-hole match-play final.
The U.S. Women's Amateur is one of the United States Golf Association's original three championships. It was first conducted in 1895, shortly after the inaugural U.S. Amateur and U.S. Open. The Women's Amateur has since been conducted every year except 1917-18, when it was temporarily suspended because of World War I, and 1942-45, when it was suspended because of World War II.

- Monday, Aug. 3 -- First round, stroke play (18 holes)
- Tuesday, Aug. 4 -- Second round, stroke play (18 holes)
- Wednesday, Aug. 5 -- First round, match play (18 holes)
- Thursday, Aug. 6 -- Second round, match play (18 holes); Third round, match play (18 holes)
- Friday, Aug. 7 -- Quarterfinals, match play (18 holes)
- Saturday, Aug. 8 -- Semifinals, match play (18 holes)
- Sunday, Aug. 9 -- Final, match play (36 holes)
Dela Paz is the first UC women's golfer to qualify for the U.S. Women's Amateur since Hillery Wilson made the field in 2006.
