With the 2009 University of Cincinnati women's soccer season under way, GoBEARCATS.com sat down with 2009 captain senior Melissa Bigg to talk about her UC soccer experience.

1). What other schools were you considering besides Cincinnati and why did you end up choosing UC?
The other schools that I considered while getting recruited were Louisville, Syracuse, and UNCW, among others. I chose Cincinnati because of the great atmosphere, the top facilities, and the people.

2.) What is your greatest soccer memory?
My greatest soccer memory was winning the Canadian National Championships with my club team, Erin Mills Soccer Club.

3.) What's the memorable road trip you have been on here at Cincinnati and why?
The most memorable Cincinnati road trip was our trip to New York when we played Rutgers and Seton Hall during my junior season. We were able to tour Manhattan, go on a ferry ride around the city, and have dinner in Time Square. At the same time I was able to share it with my family and teammates. All around it was an amazing trip.

4.) Being from Limehouse, Ontario, is there anything interesting about your hometown that most people don't know?
There are a lot of open spaces in Limehouse that are great for outdoor recreation activities.

5.) Do you have any unique pregame routines?
I always have to listen to my music. I always get taped before getting changed and then tape my right wrist. I always get dressed with and walk out with my Canadian better half Erin MacDonald.

Cincinnati's home 2009 home-opener at Gettler Stadium is Sept. 10 vs. Xavier at 7 p.m.
