The University of Cincinnati and media partner FOX Sports Ohio are gearing up for another season of UC Football on the network, presented by the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Honda Dealers. To kick off the season, the network presents a half-hour preseason look with Inside Bearcats Football 2009, premiering Monday, August 31 at 6 p.m.
Taped at the Bearcats' preseason home at the Higher Ground Conference & Retreat Center in West Harrison, Ind., the 30-minute show features in-depth interviews with UC student-athletes, including quarterback Tony Pike, safety Aaron Webster, and wide receiver Mardy Gilyard.
The show also chats with head coach Brian Kelly about the 2009 season.
This special preview is hosted by Tom Gelehrter, who will also host for the second year Bearcats Sports Weekly with Brian Kelly & Mick Cronin on FOX Sports Ohio. Gelehrter is UC's manager of new media and broadcasting and a 2002 graduate of Syracuse University. He has worked for the past nine years as a college sports broadcaster at Cincinnati, The University of Akron and Syracuse. A Cleveland native, Gelehrter serves as sideline reporter for UC football broadcasts on 700-WLW and is the play-by-play voice for women's basketball.
Inside Bearcats Football 2009 on FOX Sports Ohio will air a total of nine times on dates and times as follows:
- Monday, Aug. 31 at 6p.m. and 11 p.m.
- Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 10 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 3 at 3p.m. and 10 p.m.
- Friday, Sept. 4 at 10:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 5 at 12:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 6 at 4:30 p.m.
