BROOKLINE, Mass. - The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team lost, 2-0, against Northeastern on Sunday afternoon at Parsons Field. Cincinnati (1-2-0) played its third of five straight road games and Northeastern improved to 2-0 on the year.

"This was a disappointing loss for us because we played excellent soccer," said head coach Michelle Salmon. I don't want to take anything away from Northeastern, they are an excellent team, but we played our best soccer to date. It was just one of those games. We will rebound and be ready for next weekend."

Melissa Bigg (Limehouse, Ont./Acton) took five shots for Cincinnati, which out shot the Huskies 15-13 for the game. The Bearcats owned a commanding 8-3 advantage on corner kicks and forced Northeastern into five offsides penalties, but UC was unable to overcome two first-half goals by Northeastern's Devin Petta.

Rachel Barnette (Peachtree City, Ga./McIntosh) played the first half in goal for UC and recorded two saves. Andrea Kaminski (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) held the Huskies scoreless in the second half and recorded one save.

The Bearcats will travel to Louisville, Ky. to participate in the Louisville Cardinal Invitational Tournament over Labor Day weekend. UC's first game is on Friday, Sept. 4 against Saint Louis at 5 p.m.
