Women's Course | Men's Course

CINCINNATI- The University of Cincinnati men's and women's cross country team's travel to Terri Haute, Ind., Saturday, Oct. 17, to compete in the Pre-Nationals Invitational. The event will be hosted by Indiana State University and the course will be run on the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Championship Course at the Wabash Family Sports Center.

This marks the first action for the men's and women's team since Oct. 2, when the men finished fourth out of 38 teams and the women finished fourth out of 42 teams at the All-Ohio Championships.

Continuing his stellar sophomore season, Eric Finan finished second at the All-Ohio Championships. Preceding that performance were two first-place finishes at the Queen City Invitational and the Iona Meet of Champions. Juniors David Barry and Ricky Lupp both recorded top 20 finishes at the All-Ohio's, finishing 12th and 20th respectively.

The women's team is led by the trio of seniors Jocelyn McCauley and Tamara Masters, and junior Lilian Jelimo. At the All-Ohio Championships, Jelimo and McCauley finished sixth and seventh respectively, while Masters placed 15th, marking the third consecutive race the trio have all placed in the top 15.

The LaVern Gibson Cross Country Championship Course at the Wabash Family Sports Center hosted the NCAA Division I Great Lakes Regional in 1998, 1999, 2001, and 2003. The most prominent meet it has hosted has been the NCAA Division I Cross-Country Championship. The Gibson Course hosted this championship in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, and will be the host site in 2009.

The men's race begins at approximately 11 a.m. and the women's race will start at 12:20.
