CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati football team moved up in both polls and checked in at No. 5 in the first Bowl Championship Series Standings for the 2009 season on Sunday.

The Bearcats (6-0, 2-0 BIG EAST) took the No. 5 spot in the Associated Press poll this week and the No. 6 slot in the USA Today Coaches poll after knocking off No. 21 USF 34-17 at Raymond James Stadium on Oct. 15, 2009.

All three rankings are the best in school history. UC's previous best BCS ranking was No. 12 in the final 2008 BCS standings.

UC returns home to take on Louisville on Oct. 24 at Nippert Stadium. The homecoming game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and be televised on ESPNU. Tickets for the game are sold out.
