KETTERING, Ohio - Kate Moore (Shepparton, Australia/Goulburn Grammar School) shot a 77-77=154 and defeated Ohio's Megan Weaver in a playoff to win the Dayton Fall Invitational on Tuesday at the NCR Country Club.
The Bearcats won the team title with a 317-307=624 and all five UC golfers finished in the Top 13.
Moore, a junior, won the first tournament of her career and was followed by Jenny Linville (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West), who shot 80-75=175 to finish third.
Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Philippines/Miriam College) was fifth with a two-round total of 80-78=158. Alex Carl (Union, Ky./Notre Dame Academy) finished seventh (82-77=159) and Kristin Price (Dandridge, Tenn./Jefferson County) was 13th with a 80-81=161.
UC won the team title by 21 strokes over Bowling Green (327-318=645) and Detroit (322-323=645), who tied for second. Host Dayton finished fourth (335-317=652).
UC will next be in action at the FIU/Pat Bradley Invitational on Oct. 25-27 in Fort Meyers, Fla.
