NEW YORK - Kahla Roudebush (Noblesville, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) was named to the Preseason all-BIG EAST team at the conference's annual media day on Thursday (Oct. 22) in New York.

Roudebush was UC's team leader in scoring (16.3 ppg), assists (103) and 3-point field goals made (70) and was second in 3-point field goal percentage (.395). She started in all 31 games and led the league in minutes played, ranking No. 8 in the nation, averaging 38.5 per game.

She is No. 19 on UC's all-time scoring list with 1,044 points and ranks in the Top 10 in school history in three-point field goals made (145, 5th), three-point attenpts (380, 5th), three-point field goal percentage (.382, 2nd), and free throw percentage (.767, 8th).

The Bearcats were selected to finish 16th in the league's coaches' poll. Defending national champion Connecticut was picked to win the 2009-10 BIG EAST title. Notre Dame was tabbed to finish second, while DePaul and Louisville were tied for third.

UConn's Maya Moore was named the league's preseason Player of the Year and Notre Dame freshman Skylar Diggins was unanimously named preseason Freshman of the Year.

Cincinnati opens its 2009-10 schedule, its first under Jamelle Elliott, on Nov. 15 against Furman in Fifth Third Arena.
