TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at No. 6/7 USF on Saturday (Oct. 3) night at the USF Soccer Stadium.

USF (7-1-1, 3-1-1 BIG EAST) got two second-half goals to extend its home unbeaten streak against Cincinnati (7-4-0, 2-3-0) to five matches. The last Bearcats win in Tampa came in 1999, a 2-1 victory.

After a scoreless first half, Ashani Fairclough headed in the match's first goal in the 52nd minute on a cross from Javed Mohammed.

As the Bearcats pushed for the equalizer late in the match, USF's Bernardo Anor scored on a header in the 83rd minute to put the match away. Jorge Mora and Mohammed were credited with assists on the play.

The Bearcats posted 12 shots, inluding seven on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net against USF goalkeeper Jeff Atinella, who has allowed just five goals all season.

Matt Williams (Portland, Maine/Cheverus) made eight saves for UC.

The Bearcats return to Gettler Stadium for a BIG EAST contest against DePaul on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
