MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving team dropped a pair of dual meets to BIG EAST Conference rival West Virginia, Friday at the WVU Natatorium. The men's team lost a 120-98 decision while the women dropped a 122-97 matchup.

UC was missing several key performers due to illness but still earned a number of event wins in the team's first road test of the season.

Josh Schneider won a pair of events, earning the top spot in the 50 and 100 freestyle, clocking times of 20.46, and 45.73, respectively.

Jeremy Peter also earned two event wins, taking the top honors in the 400 Individual Medley with a time of 4:09.75, and first in the 200 backstroke with a 2:05.05 clocking.

Lindsay Bakan took the top spot in the women's 1-meter diving event, with a total of 258.67 points. Kirtley Krombholz gave the Bearcats a sweep of the diving events with her victory in the 3-meter diving event. Krombholz scored 286.72 points to take the top spot. Bakan was fourth with 239.10 points.

Liz Hansson swam 2:04.88 to win the women's 200 backstroke event.

The 800-freestyle relay squad of Bree Rossi, Laurie Caudy, Bailey Laban, and Melody Smith covered the course in 8:04.21 to earn first place, ahead of the UC quartet of Shannon Conners, Joanne Gribler, Megan Smith, and Logan Bauer, who placed second in 8:34.18.
