CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team released its 2010 schedule, third year head coach Lellie Swords announced. The Bearcats will play eight home games, including hosting three teams nationally ranked in the Top 20 of the final 2009 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Poll.

"We have a tough schedule that will help us continue the development of our program," said Swords. "We are excited to travel west for some strong competition and look forward to the opportunity to improve our level of play from last season."

The team's spring slate features a total of six contests against opponents that finished the 2009 season nationally ranked - at Stanford (March 22), at Loyola (April 3), Georgetown (April 9), Ohio State (April 14), at Notre Dame (April 17), and against Syracuse (April 23).

The Bearcats start the 2010 season against the same opponent they ended the 2009 season with, traveling to Detroit on March 5. UC hosts Duquesne (March 7) and Presbyterian (March 12) as tune-ups for a four-game road trip that includes Oregon (March 20), Stanford (March 22), Fresno State (March 23) and St. Mary's (March 24). Cincinnati returns home to host Louisville on March 30 in the BIG EAST season opener.

Cincinnati begins April with four straight opponents nationally ranked in 2009 before hosting Jacksonville (April 18), Syracuse, and Connecticut (April 25). The Bearcats end the 2010 season on the road with BIG EAST games at Villanova (April 30) and at Rutgers (May 2).

The BIG EAST Women's Lacrosse Championship, hosted by Rutgers on May 6 and 8, brings the top four teams in the conference standings at the conclusion of the regular season.
