CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team takes on St. John's this Sunday January 10 at 2 p.m. in Fifth Third Arena for the second home BIG EAST match up of the season.
The UC Marketing department is pleased to announce all promotional activities for the WIZ Radio--Girls Day Out promotion. Doors open at 1:00 pm and the first 1,000 fans will have the opportunity to receive a 2010 All Sports Calendar on the east side entrance of the arena. Lucy, the live Bearcat mascot will also be on hand on the east concourse until 3:00 p.m. sponsored by the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
During the game, fans will have the opportunity to participate in on-court contests such as a balloon popping contest, fan of the game contest, craziest row contest, and shooting contests. Winners of the contests will receive 2 complimentary tickets to a future women's basketball game and other UC bearcat merchandise. Bearcat polyfill minibasketballs and black C-paw t-shirts will be thrown into the crowd. Halftime will feature the National and World Champion UC Dance team that will be performing their 2010 national dance routine. Following the dance team performance will be the UC Student Shooting contest, where one lucky UC student will have the chance to win a bookstore gift card if they make a 3-pt. shot.
WIZ Radio station is a proud sponsor of this game. As part of the WIZ Girl's Day Out promotion, fans can register their dance team for a chance to win tickets to see the UC Dance Team perform at this Women's Basketball Game. Fans can register at www.wiznation.com. During the game, individual dance teams can register their team to "perform" their routine at an upcoming home game.
WIZ DJ's, Jade West and DJ Dimepiece will be the in stadium host for halftime contests. The Jamelle Elliott KIDS CORNER winners this week is the Bethany House. The Bethany House Services received complimentary tickets to this Sunday's game as part of the Jamelle Elliott Kids Corner. Bethany House Services collaborates with others to provide a full range of housing, education, and assistance programs to homeless and disadvantaged women and children.
Post game, fans can meet and greet the UC women's basketball team on the north east court level of the arena for a autograph signing sessions. Student athletes will be available 15 minutes following the game. 2009-10 schedule posters and sharpies will be provided.
