CINCINNATI- The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team looks to rebound from a 5-2 defeat last Saturday (Jan. 23) in their season opener against Bowling Green when they travel to Hamilton, Ohio, to take on the Miami RedHawks on Friday, January 29, at 6 p.m. After that match they will be right back on the road, when they travel to Bloomington, Ind. to battle the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday, January 30, at 2:00 p.m.

The trip to Indiana will mark head coach Angela Wilson's return to Bloomington, where in her four years, she was twice named team captain and was a part of two Big Ten titles (1984, 1987). In 1987, Wilson was named first-team all-Big Ten as she helped the Hoosiers to their second NCAA Tournament appearance. Wilson is a 1987 graduate of Indiana.

Against Bowling Green, the Bearcats notched wins in the No. 3 and No. 5 singles flights. Sophomore Ksenia Slynko won the No. 5 flight (6-4, 6-3), winning for the 15th time in her career. In her collegiate debut, freshman Caitlin O'Gara was victorious, winning the No. 3 flight in two sets, 6-4, 6-1.

In her Bearcat debut, junior Lindsey Lonergan dropped a tough two-set match in the No. 2 singles flight, 7-5, 6-3. In doubles competition Lonergan and sophomore Safiyya Ismail lost their first match together in the No. 1 double spot, 8-5.

The Bearcats look to snap a two-match losing streak against Miami (OH).

Match play against Miami (OH) will be held at the Riverside Athletic Club in Hamilton, Ohio, while the match against Indiana will be held at the IU Tennis Center.
