CINCINNATI- Three University of Cincinnati men's soccer players, Luke Henke, Mark Konitsch, and Branden Stelmak have been named to the all-Ohio and all-Ohio Academic team, the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) announced. Henke and Stelmak were both second-team honorees to the Academic all-Ohio team for the second straight year, while Stelmak and Konitsch were both named to the second-team 2009 Ohio team.

Henke, a senior from Wauwatosa, Wis., was a key cog to the Bearcats defense this past season, starting 16 matches and finishing tied for third on the team in assists (3). Henke, a business major, finished with a 3.36 G.P.A. He ends his UC career having played in 57 matches, starting 43. This marks the second consecutive year that he has been recognized as an Academic all-Ohio performer and honored for his work in the classroom.

The other two-time Academic all-Ohio honoree, Branden Stelmak, is an operations management major and finished with a 3.43 G.P.A. The junior from Broadview Heights, Ohio, was tied with teammate Mark Konitsch in goals scored (4), and finished second in assists (4). He finished as the team leader in points (12) for the second consecutive season.

Junior Mark Konitsch, a midfielder from Clarence, New York, finished tied for first on the team in goals (4), fourth in assists (2), and third in points (10). He registered two game winning goals, including one that accounted for the only goal scored in a 1-0 upset victory over No. 21 Notre Dame.

The Bearcats finished the season with an 8-10-0 record, including a 3-8-0 mark in BIG EAST Conference play.
