That was the last lead the Bearcats would hold, however, as a 7-0 run by USF made it 12-6 with 12:32 left in the first. The Bulls pushed it to as much as nine before three straight points for UC made it 23-17 going into the break.

The Bearcats shot just 22 percent (5-of-23) in the first stanza, but held the Bulls to just 39 percent shooting and forced 10 turnovers to stay in the game.

UC scored the first four points of the second half to cut the lead to 23-21. After a Leondra Doomes-Stephens three pushed the lead to five, four straight points for the Bearcats cut it to 26-25 with 17:18 to go.

The Bulls used a 10-3 run to push the lead to eight, 36-28, with 14:17 to play. UC got the deficit to five on a couple of occassions, but could get no closer and USF closed the game on a 22-10 run to win going away.

Doomes-Stephens scored 17, while Sequoyah Griffin posted 10 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists for the visitors.

Val Schuster (Wausau, Wis./Wausau Newman Central) grabbed a career-high nine rebounds for the Bearcats.
