CINCINNATI- The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team returns home from a tough two-game road trip, when it hosts Morehead State on Friday, Feb. 5, at 4 p.m. The following evening the Bearcats battle Youngstown State on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Western Tennis and Fitness Club.

UC's (0-3, 0-0 BIG EAST) first two road matches of the season proved to be difficult ones, as the Bearcats fell at Miami (OH) and Indiana. Miami (OH) now owns a three-match winning streak against the Bearcats, while Indiana, through six matches, remains undefeated. Against the RedHawks and Hoosiers, the Bearcats were defeated 6-1 and 7-0, respectively.

For Cincinnati, Ksenia Slynko had a personal best five-match winning streak that dated back to last season snapped at Indiana. The sophomore from Odessa, Ukraine, is the only Bearcat to notch more than one victory in match play this season. Slynko has 16 career wins in singles play, tying her with sophomore Safiyya Ismail for the most active wins on the team.

Last season, the Bearcats opened the 2008-09 season with a 4-3 victory over Morehead State. Slynko and sophomore Jessica Wise, making their Bearcat debuts, both notched victories in singles play. The win also marked the first victory of head coach Angela Wilson's career.

Against Youngstown State a season ago, the Bearcats won in convincing fashion, defeating the Penguins 6-1. In that match, Safiyya Ismail won a thrilling three-set match. After dropping the first set 6-7 (4), she battled back to take the next two sets 6-1, 6-4, to win the match.

The Bearcats currently own two-game winning streaks against both schools.
