INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Freshman Elise Woulfe extended her personal winning streak to five matches at Butler on Friday, Feb. 19, but it was not enough as the Bearcats lost a close match, 4-3, to the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs got out to an early lead taking the double's point 2-to-1. UC's win came from the pair of Ksenia Slynko and Woulfe, winning, 8-6, at the No. 2 spot.
Slynko and Woulfe's success continued in singles play as they captured the No. 1 and No. 4 flights in three sets, respectively. Slynko knocked off Butler's Gabriella Bobrowski, 2-6, 7-6, 6-3, while Slynko won, 6-7, 6-4, 6-2, over Becky Jenkins. The Bearcats' third win in singles play was by Safiyya Ismail, 6-2, ,6-4.
Cincinnati (2-6) takes on IUPUI later tonight in the final match of the doubleheader at 7 p.m.
