Tennis Shuts Out IUPUI, 7-0, for Third Win of Season

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team notched its third win of the season Friday evening in the night cap of a doubleheader, sweeping IUPUI, 7-0, at the Indianapolis Tennis Center.

The Jaguars did not go down easily in the doubles matches, winning the No. 3 flight over UC's Abby Mayo and Caitlin O'Gara. The teams of Lindsey Lonergan and Safiyya Ismail and Ksenia Slynko and Elise Woulfe won the point for the Bearcats with 8-3 and 8-1 wins, respectively.

In singles play, Cincinnati cruised through the six matches with only one, the No. 6 spot, going three sets. Mayo picked up the win in the sixth spot, taking the last two sets for the 2-6, 6-2, 10-8 win. Woulfe earned her sixth straight individual win at the No. 4 spot and now is 6-3 for the season.

The Bearcats (3-6) take to the courts again tomorrow for their third match of the weekend at Ball State University at 1 p.m.
