CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati swimmer Josh Schneider, a seven-time BIG EAST Conference Champion, ranks atop the time charts for the men's 50 freestyle after his record-setting swim at the 2010 BIG EAST Championships last weekend in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The senior won three individual league titles (50 free, 100 free, 100 fly), setting UC, meet, and pool records in all three events last weekend and was named the BIG EAST Men's Swimmer of the Year for the second-straight season.

Schneider opened up the league meet with a UC, BIG EAST meet, Trees Pool, and NCAA 'A' time of 19.08 in the 50 freestyle qualifying. He is tied with Cal's Nathan Adrian, an Olympic Gold Medalist, for the fastest time in the nation this season.

It is the second-straight season he has automatically qualified for the NCAA Championship meet in the 50 freestyle and the third-straight year he was won the BIG EAST title in the event.

Schneider swam a school, Trees Pool, and BIG EAST meet record time of 46.44 in the 100 butterfly to win his second individual title in as many days. It was his second straight in the 100 butterfly event. Schneider's time is tied for the fourth-fastest in the country this season and is an NCAA provisional time.

He closed out the meet by clocking 43.00 in the 100 freestyle, breaking his own UC and BIG EAST meet records and setting a Trees Pool record, winning by half a second over the second-place finisher. It is the fourth-fastest time in the country this season and an NCAA provisional qualifying mark.

The two-time all-American will return to action at the NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championship, set to run March 25-27 at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on the campus of the Ohio State University in Columbus.
