JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Philippines/Miriam College) finished second to lead the University of Cincinnati women's golf in its spring opener at the JU Classic at Hidden Hills Country Club, hosted by Jacksonville University.
The junior shot 73-73=146 to finish two over par, just two shots back of individual champion Mitsuki Katahira of Daytona State College, who posted an even-par 73-71=144..
Kate Moore (Shepparton, Australia/Goulburn Valley Grammar) rebounded from a first-round 81 to shoot 78 in round two and finish tied for 20th at 159.
Kristin Price (Dandridge, Tenn./Jefferson County) carded rounds of 78-82=160 to place 23rd and Alex Carl (Union, Ky./Notre Dame Academy) finished with a two-round total of 78-85=163, good for a tie for 29th.
The Bearcats placed third in the team competition with rounds of 310-315=625. Daytona State was the team champion with a tournament-record 298-298=596 performance. Stetson was second with rounds of 305-305=610.
The Bearcats head west to Rio Verde, Ariz., to take part in the eighth annual Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational.
