CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati football team will play host to its 16th Annual Football Lettermen's Weekend from April 23-24, 2010. The weekend brings back former football players of all eras to celebrate the proud tradition and exciting future of Bearcats Football.
The weekend kicks off with the annual Jim Kelly Sr. Golf Classic and Dinner on Friday April 23 at Elks Run Golf Course in Batavia, Ohio.
Saturday's events kick off with the Glenn Sample Captain's Breakfast. The breakfast, a tradition unique to Bearcats Football, was started in the mid-1950's by legendary coach Sid Gillman. UC team captains from the 1940's through the millennium attend the breakfast with the 2010 UC senior class and the football coaching staff.
From 3-4 p.m., the UC coaching staff will conduct a free clinic for youth football players at Nippert Stadium. Following the clinic, members of the back-to-back BIG EAST Conference Champions UC football team will be on hand for an autograph session.
The weekend concludes with Bearcat Bowl IV, the spring football game at 7 p.m. Saturday in Nippert Stadium.
