AKRON, Ohio - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team lost at No. 67 Akron, 7-0, on Saturday, March 6 at the LaTuchie Tennis Center, dropping to 5-8 on the season.
The Zips cruised through doubles play as the Bearcats could only muster three points in 8-2, 8-0, and 8-1 losses. The No. 1 team of Safiyya Ismail and Lindsey Lonergan earned the two points in the No. 1 spot.
In singles action, UC's Ksenia Slynko, Lindsey Lonergan, and Caitlin O'Gara had winning streaks of five, four, and four, respectively, end as Akron took all six individual matches.
The Bearcats return to the court on Friday, March 12, when they travel to Louisville to take on the Cardinals at 2 p.m. They close the weekend at home on Saturday vs. Villanova at the Western Tennis & Fitness Club at 5 p.m.
