CINCINNATI - Eight former University of Cincinnati football players were named to the initial roster for the 2010 Cincinnati Commandos, a professional indoor football team that begins play this weekend at Cincinnati Gardens.
UC letterwinners Terrill Byrd (2005-08), Khalil El-Amin (2005-08), Dominick Goodman (2005-08), Ernie Jackson (2004-07), Ray Jackson (2000-01), Ben Mauk (2007), Greg Moore (2004-07), and Frank Straub (2004-06) dot the roster for the Commandos.
The Commandos, who play in the six-team Continental Indoor Football League, will feature a six-game home schedule at the Gardens.
The Commandos will play host to the Miami Valley Silverbacks at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Parking is free in all Gardens lots. Single-game tickets for adults are priced at $12 and tickets for kids ages 10 and under are $7. All tickets are available at the Cincinnati Gardens Box Office, at all Ticketmaster Outlets including select Kroger stores, charge by phone at 800-745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
