FRESNO, Calif. - Four University of Cincinnati (3-3) lacrosse players scored multiple goals as the Bearcats cruised to a 17-3 win over Fresno State (0-7) on Tuesday afternoon at Bulldog Stadium. Cincinnati set a school record for most goals scored and fewest goals allowed in a road game.
Laura Simanski led the way with a team-high three goals in the victory. Katie Kiriazoglou matched her school record with five assists and scored two goals, while Ali Mattingly had two goals and three assists. MacKenzie Parsons tallied two goals and Jess Kazaks had a goal and two assists.
The Bearcats scored 15 goals in the first half and allowed only one goal by the Bulldogs. Rachel Mercier, Lynsey Burton, Shannon Lynes, LB Zinkand, Jenn Doran, Gabby Sinmaz, and Kylie Ramsland each had first half goals.
Both teams scored two goals in the second half. Cincinnati got two assists from Katie Liberatore and Maggie Hague assisted on a goal as well. Katherine Russo picked up the win in goal, saving four.
UC will play tomorrow, March 24, in a 3 p.m. (PST) game at Saint Mary's, finishing its four game road swing.
