CINCINNATI- Returning home after a thrilling 4-3 victory over BIG EAST rival Pittsburgh, the University of Cincinnati women's tennis team wraps up the regular season as it hosts Xavier, Tuesday, April 13, at 6 p.m. The match will be held on campus, at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center.

After a brief three-match road trip that featured two defeats against nationally-ranked opponents (No. 26 DePaul, No. 55 Marshall), and a nail-biting victory over Pittsburgh, Cincinnati (10-11, 3-3) looks to close out the regular season against Xavier (13-7, 7-0), a team they have beaten two of the past three seasons.

UC was shutout twice by DePaul and Marshall, 7-0, before ending the road trip in dramatic fashion, with a victory over Pittsburgh, 4-3.

The Panthers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by taking the doubles point, forcing UC to win four singles matches to entertain any thought of pulling out a win. The Bearcats used strong individual performances by sophomore Ksenia Slynko, junior Lindsey Lonergan, and freshmen Caitlin O'Gara, and Elise Woulfe to overcome the deficit and claim the victory.

Slynko won her match in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3, notching her team-leading 15th victory on the season. Lonergan, O'Gara, and Woulfe needed three sets apiece to win their respective matches and complete the comeback, assuring the Bearcats of a .500 record or better in conference play for the second season in a row.

The victories by O'Gara and Woulfe, push their season records to 12-9 apiece.

In doubles play, Slynko and Woulfe pulled out an 8-5 victory over the Panthers, recording their team-leading 10th win. The duo is now 6-4 in their last 10 matches.

The Bearcats defeated the Musketeers a season ago, 4-3, at Xavier, in a contest that came down to the final singles match.
