CINCINNATI - No. 19 Ohio State University (8-4) scored 14 first half goals en route to a 20-5 victory over the University of Cincinnati (4-7) lacrosse team in nonconference action on Wednesday afternoon at Nippert Stadium.
The Buckeyes scored 10 goals in the first nine minutes of the game before Ali Mattingly took an assist from Laura Simanski for UC's only goal in the first half. OSU scored eight goals before the Bearcats posted back-to-back goals, on from Rachel Mercier and one by Simanski from Natalie Starvaggi. Ohio State hit the back of the net two more times until UC scored the final two goals of the game, a free position attempt by MacKenzie Parsons and an unassisted goal from Starvaggi.
Katherine Russo and Haley Marvine each spent time in goal for the Bearcats combining for six saves.
Cincinnati travels to Notre Dame for a BIG EAST game on Saturday, April 17, at 3 p.m. EST.
