NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team faced its fourth straight ranked opponent when it traveled to No. 12 Notre Dame (9-4, 5-1 BIG EAST) for a BIG EAST Conference game on Saturday, April 17. UC (4-8, 0-4 BIG EAST) lost, 15-5, to the Fighting Irish.

Cincinnati recorded 21 ground balls to UND's 20 and Katherine Russo and Haley Marvine combined to record 11 saves in goal but the Bearcats were unable to score for the first 15 minutes of the game and could not overcome the 9-0 deficit.

Laura Simanski scored UC's two first-half goals, one unassisted and the other assisted by MacKenzie Parsons. Natalie Starvaggi recorded a goal on a free position attempt in the second half and Katie Kiriazoglou scored an unassisted goal with 9:31 to play. Simanski closed out the scoring on a free position attempt with 1:54 remaining in the game.

Cincinnati will play Jacksonville University tomorrow, April 18, at 2 p.m. on Girls Lax Day. All female lacrosse teams in the Cincinnati area, of any age, are invited to UC's game against Jacksonville. After the game UC players will be available for autographs. UC lacrosse players will come to a game to cheer on the team which brings the most players on their team to the game. Admission is free for all UC home lacrosse games.
