PALM HARBOR, Fla. - Joe Kastelic (Newton, N.C./Fred T. Foard) finished 12th to pace the University of Cincinnati men's golf team at the 2010 BIG EAST Championships on Tuesday (April 20) at the Innisbrook Resort.

Kastelic, a junior, fired rounds of 75-73-70=218 to tie for 12th with two other golfers, Chris Biuso of Louisville and Mark Costanza of St. John's.

Zach Bates (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) shot 76-77-73=226 to finish in a tie for 34th, while teammate David Tepe (Liberty Township, Ohio/Lakota East), who carded 81-70-76=227, was one shot back in a tie for 37th.

Andrew Desmarais (Union, Ky./Ryle) shot rounds of 76-73-79=228 to finish tied for 41st and Matt Ledom (Leawood, Kan./Rockhurst Jesuit Prep) posted a three-round total of 76-73-81=230, good for a share of 49th place.

The Bearcats posted rounds of 303-289-298=890 to finish eighth, five shots ahead of Rutgers (302-290-303=895).

Georgetown (294-286-293=873) won the team title, led by Vincenzo Salina (72-69-74=215), who won the individual crown on the first hole of a four-way playoff.

Evan Beime of St. John's and Tom Usher and Max Scodro of Notre Dame also posted three-round totals of 215 to force the playoff.

Notre Dame (299-289-286=874) placed second by one stroke and Louisville (293-294-289=876) was third.

The Bearcats will take on Xavier in a match play event in the annual Crosstown Shootout on April 27.
