CHICAGO - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team had its four-match winning streak snapped Friday (April 2) at DePaul, losing to the Blue Demons, 7-0, at the Lakeshore Athletics Club in Chicago.
DePaul jumped out to the early 1-0 lead with a sweep of the doubles matches. UC's No. 2 team of Ksenia Slynko and Elise Woulfe fought hard in their match losing by just two, 8-6, while the teams of Lindsey Lonergan and Saffiya Ismail and Caitlin O'Gara and Abby Mayo, each lost 8-2.
In singles action, Slynko posted the closest match, but lost 6-3, 6-2 to DePaul's Anna Redesci in the No. 1 singles spot.
The Bearcats who fall to 9-10 overall and 2-3 vs. BIG EAST Conference opponents return to the courts on April 10-11 in Huntington, W.Va., to face Marshall University at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Pittsburgh at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
