CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati men's soccer coach Hylton Dayes announced today an eight-member recruiting class for the 2010 season. The class includes four Ohio products and six players with experience at the collegiate level.

"We are extremely happy with our incoming class. They are a very talented group and will fit in well with our team," Dayes said.

Two local standouts, Mike Brizzi (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland/Cincinnati State) and Dan Dwyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day/Houston Baptist) will join the roster in 2010 after transferring from Cincinnati State and Houston Baptist, respectively. Dwyer is the younger brother of former Bearcats letterwinner Mike Dwyer, who helped UC to a pair of conference championships and two NCAA appearances during his four-year career.

"One of our recruiting goals is always to attract talented local players and we accomplished that with this group," Dayes continued. "We look forward to integrating these new players into our program, as we continue working toward our goal of winning a BIG EAST Championship."

Dayes expects the Bearcats to add 2-4 more players over the summer to fill out the 2010 roster.

The Bearcats finished 2009 with an 8-10-0 record and saw marked improvement in goals scored over the 2008 season. UC lost just two seniors to graduation and returns seven of its top eight scorers from a year ago, along with eight starters.
