Tonight's Game:
- Cincinnati begins the 2010 women's soccer season with an exhibition match against Ball State at Gettler Stadium at 7 p.m.
- Today's exhibition match is the first preseason warmup UC has played at home since the 2008 season
- UC defeated Central Michigan in its home exhibition match in 2008, 4-1
- Tonight's opponent, Ball State, was led by UC head coach Michelle Salmon in 2006 and 2007
- Salmon was twice named Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year after leading Ball State to its first regular-season championship in 2006 and a repeat championship in 2007
Season Openers:
- Cincinnati is 21-9 in regular season openers
- The Bearcats have outscored their opponents by a combined 74-31 in the first match of the season

- Cincinnati has not played Ball State in 30 seasons of competition
30 Years:
- During the 2010 season UC will celebrate its 30 seasons of varsity women's soccer
- On Saturday, Oct. 2, the Bearcats will have a special evening for all former players and on Sunday, Oct. 3, all former players in attendance will be honored at halftime of the BIG EAST contest against Pittsburgh
- Depth and Firepower:
- Head coach Michelle Salmon has noted that the 2010 squad is her deepest since she has been at UC
- There are 11 midfielders, nine forwards, three defenders and two goalkeepers on the roster
- Returning for UC is junior Emily Hebbeler and senior Kendall Loggins, the team's top two scoring threats in 2009 (each scored six goals)
- Also returning is junior Julie Morrissey, who tallied 11 points in 2009 (4g, 3a)
- UC welcomes the return of Logan Ballinger (MF), who missed most of last season due to an injury
- The 2010 team captains are senior Sydney Barker, and juniors Logan Ballinger and Kay Young
Challenging Schedule:
- Four of UC's opponents on the 2010 schedule are ranked in the NCAA Women's Division I Preseason Poll
- Notre Dame, the second BIG EAST opponent UC will take on this year, is ranked in the Top 10 (#4)
- Three of the opponents ranked will be away matches for UC with the Bearcats hosting West Virginia
Last Time Out:
- Cincinnati ended the 2009 season with a 4-0 victory over visiting Seton Hall in a BIG EAST contest
- Erin MacDonald, Kendall Loggins and Evi Ranson each scored goals for the Bearcats
- UC scored four goals against an opponent twice during the 2009 season
