Week 1 Sights & Sounds

WEST HARRISON, Ind. - The University of Cincinnati football team returned to the field Saturday, holding a pair of workouts at the Higher Ground Conference & Retreat Center in West Harrison, Ind.

The morning workout was in shells and under cloudy humid skies as temperatures remained in the 90s. The team returned to the field at 5:45 p.m. practicing for two hours in full pads to close out the day.

The No. 1 offense was clicking with quarterback Zach Collaros completing some well placed passes to receivers Marcus Barnett and Vidal Hazelton during 11-on-11 in the red zone.

The special teams received some heavy focus as well as the kickoff, kickoff return, punt, and field goal units all seeing work during the morning session. Patrick O'Donnell looks to take over the No. 1 punter role after kicking in a handful of games a year ago. Jacob Rogers, who handled all kicking duties in 2009, will focus on kickoff, field goal, and extra point duties. The senior has been consistently hitting kicks from the 50-yard range through the first week of camp.

The evening session featured a number of individual position group work, and emphasis on special teams and extended periods in 11-on-11 and 7-on-7.
