Head Coach Mick Cronin's comments on the opening of practice (2:30)

CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati men's basketball opened camp today with a two and a half hour practice as it prepares to travel to Ottawa, Ontario Sept. 2-6 for a three-game foreign tour vs. McGill University, Carleton University and the University of Ottawa.

The Bearcats spent most the session working on individual position work. As the practice wore on Coach Cronin spent time with them as a unit working on team skills at first and then working together on offense.

After practice concluded, the players returned to the locker room where several former Bearcats talked to the players about the rich tradition of UC basketball and what it means to be a Bearcat.

Sophomore guard Cashmere Wright, who had minor surgery to his knee at the beginning of July, was back on the court taking part in individual and non-contact drills. Once the team trainers evaluate his progress he is expected to be cleared for full practice.

The team returns to the court on Saturday and Sunday for its next two practices before taking Monday off.
