The Games:
- Cincinnati remains on the road, participating in the 2010 Wisconsin Tournament
- UC will play Northwestern on Friday, Aug. 27 at 4 p.m. and take on host, No. 20 Wisconsin, on Sunday, Aug. 29 at 2 p.m.
- The Bearcats are 2-0 to start the season, the first time since the 2003 season that UC won its first two games of the year
Series History:
- Cincinnati has played Northwestern twice, losing both
- The most recent time UC played the Wildcats was 1998 (2-0 loss)
- The match vs. Wisconsin will be UC's 14th
- The last time the Bearcats played the Badgers was in 1996 (0-0 in overtime)
- After winning three of the first four contests against Wisconsin, UC is 3-8-2 all-time against UW
30 Years:
- During the 2010 season UC will celebrate 30 seasons of varsity women's soccer
- On Saturday, Oct. 2, the Bearcats will have a special evening for all former players and on Sunday, Oct. 3, all former players in attendance will be honored at halftime of the BIG EAST contest against Pittsburgh
Depth and Firepower:
- Head coach Michelle Salmon has noted that the 2010 squad is her deepest since she has been at UC
- There are 11 midfielders, nine forwards, three defenders and two goalkeepers on the roster
- Junior Emily Hebbeler, who was one of the team's top scoring threats in 2009, picked up where she left off, scoring two goals in the season opener
- Hebbeler leads the team with four points
- UC's Logan Ballinger (MF), who missed most of last season due to an injury, scored the game-winning goal at Bowling Green
- The 2010 team captains are senior Sydney Barker, and juniors Logan Ballinger and Kay Young
Challenging Schedule:
- Four of UC's opponents on the 2010 schedule were ranked in the NCAA Women's Division I Preseason Poll
- Notre Dame, the second BIG EAST opponent UC will take on this year, is currently ranked No. 4
- Rutgers and Wisconsin are also in the Top 25 with West Virginia, Marquette, Georgetown and Connecticut receiving votes
Last Time Out:
- Cincinnati defeated Morehead State (2-1) in the regular season opener
- Emily Hebbeler scored both UC goals against the Eagles
- The Bearcats won their 2010 road opener in overtime at Bowling Green (2-1)
Up Next:
