SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team finished 13th at the William K. Warren Irish Invitational on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 3) at the Warren Golf Course.
Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Philippines/Miriam College) continued her strong play, leading the Bearcats with a 13th-place individual finish. She shot 74-78-78=230 for the tournament after taking medalist honors in the season-opening UC Fall Classic on Sept. 21.
Jenny Linville (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) carded rounds of 83-80-78=241 to finish in a tie for 52nd. Freshman Andrea Malek (Tibro, Sweden/Klippans Gymnasieskola) placed 65th with rounds of 81-80-88=249 and Kristin Price (Dandridge, Tenn./Jefferson County) was one shot behind with a total of 80-87-83=250.
The Bearcats posted rounds of 314-322-327=963. Host Notre Dame won the event, with rounds of 305-298-302=905. Kent State (305-307-298=910) was five shots back in second place.
Louisville's Sara-Maude Juneau was the individual medalist, posting rounds of 72-74-69=215 to finish three shots ahead of Notre Dame's Nicole Zhang (73-75-70=218) and Georgia State's Charlotte Lorentzen (75-69-74=218).
The Bearcats are next in action at the Price's Give 'Em Five Classic in Las Cruces, N.M. on Oct. 11-13.
