CINCINNATI - Former Syracuse lacrosse standout Breanna Stiff has joined the University of Cincinnati lacrosse coaching staff, head coach Lellie Swords announced today.
"Bre comes to us after an outstanding career at one of the best women's lacrosse programs in the nation," said Swords. "We are excited for her to join our staff and know that she will fit in well with our players and our coaching philosophy."
Stiff was a four-year letterwinner at Syracuse, playing defense. A native of Hampstead, Md., she graduated in the spring with a degree in public health. As a senior she saw action in every game and made her first start of the season against Colgate, tying her career-high in ground balls (2). She finished her junior year with five groundballs, nine draw controls, and four caused turnovers and was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in the spring semester. Her sophomore year she notched her first career goal and set career-high marks against UC, scoring three goals, handing out an assist, and causing three turnovers.
Additionally, Eric Wolery has joined the lacrosse staff as a volunteer assistant. Worley is a Cincinnati native, graduating from Lakota East before extending his lacrosse career on the collegiate level. He played goalie at Clarkson and Mount St. Joseph and is currently pursuing a Master's Degree at Xavier University.
Cincinnati has started its fall preseason slate and will have its first test of the practice season this Saturday when the Bearcats play at Notre Dame.
