GAMEDAY INFORMATION:
The No. 23-ranked University of Cincinnati volleyball team makes a mid-week return trip to the Bluegrass State on Tuesday, Oct. 19 to take on Western Kentucky University at 8 p.m. after dropping a 3-2 decision at Louisville last Saturday. The Bearcats, who had a 10-match winning streak stopped by the Cardinals look to get back on track before returning to Fifth Third Arena this coming weekend to take on BIG EAST Conference rivals USF on Saturday, Oct. 23, and Georgetown on Sunday, Oct. 24. Both matches begin at 2 p.m.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Cincinnati ranks among the nation's Top 20 teams in assists per set (13.55 - 9th), kills per set (14.44 - 11th), and hitting percentage (.280 - 14th).
- The Bearcats have won 36 straight matches at home in Fifth Third Arena, the second longest active streak in the country behind Penn State which is at 82 straight wins heading into the weekend.
- UC broke the school record for consecutive sets won on Oct. 10 vs. Notre Dame and extended the streak to 29 vs. Louisville before losing the third set.
- Entering the weekend, senior Stephanie Niemer ranks third on UC's career kills chart (1,737) and is fifth on career aces chart (176), while senior Annie Fesl ranks second on UC's career assists list (5,121).
- Niemer is also ranked in the Top 10 nationally in points (6.27 - 3rd) and kills per set (5.42 - 3rd).
- Fesl is ninth in the nation in assists per set (11.95).
