Charleston, S.C. - Former University of Cincinnati men's golfer Jim Herman qualified for this week's season-ending Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island in Charleston, S.C. (Oct. 28-31). On Sunday, the Top 25 money winners will be awarded PGA TOUR cards for 2011.

Herman, a Cincinnati native, played at UC from 1996-2000 before turning professional in 2000. He ranks 16th in driving distance on the Nationwide Tour with a 308.6-yard average, and he currently sits at 20th on the money winners list. The Top 60 money winners on the Nationwide Tour are eligible to play at the Daniel Island Club this week with a $1 million purse and a first prize of $180,000.

Herman won his first Nationwide Tour title in a playoff over Chris Kirk at the Moonah Classic on Australia's Mornington Peninsula on Feb. 7, 2010, where he sealed the win with a 6-foot birdie putt on the first hole of sudden death. His previous best finishes on the Nationwide Tour were also in events played outside of the U.S., a third in last year's Michael Hill New Zealand Open and a tie for fourth in the Panama Digicel Championship.

Based on final positions on the money list, the leading money winner is fully exempt on the PGA TOUR in 2011 and earns a spot in THE PLAYERS Championship. The other Top 25 money winners are exempt on the PGA TOUR in 2011, those who finish 26-60 are fully exempt on the Nationwide Tour in 2011, and players who finish 26-40 are exempt into the Finals of the PGA TOUR Qualifying Tournament.

The Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island will air on the Golf Channel Thursday through Sunday at 2:00 - 4:30 p.m. ET.
