On Today's Game Plan ...
"There are so many things that go into the game plan. We were trying to play field position. We turned the football over. We game up all touchdowns in all but one occasion. Our possessions were limited. Until we start protecting the football we are going to win very many games. You have to have a passion to protect the football.
On The Status Of QB Zach Collaros...
"We thought earlier in the week up until Wednesday early Thursday that he would play. He was making good progress, we really pushed him Thursday to create game like conditions for his knee. He didn't respond the way we wanted it too. He wanted to go through warm ups so that the players knew that he was in it with them. We will know more probably at the end of next week if he will play at West Virginia."
On Chazz Anderson ...
"We didn't help him. We weren't able to establish the run game. We knew that we had to start fast, we knew we had to control field position and we weren't able to do that as well. It's difficult but it is what it is. I thought our kids were ready to play, Syracuse just made plays. But we turned the football over."
On The Biggest Disappointment From Today's Game ...
"Execution. Everyone has to step up and rally around your backup quarterback. I thought we took a little bit of progress at times on defense, we had some turnovers and some sacks but you have to get off the football field. We have to force 3 and outs and we have to be able to handle sudden changes. Sometimes when you haven't played a lot, you try to force things and instead of getting into a rhythm. You can only simulate so much in practice. You can't really simulate a gameday. The speed of gameday is a lot different."
On Syracuse ...
"The biggest thing is they were able to get us into third and long positions. It came down to man on man. You have to hit the seam routes. If you can't run the ball into the blitzes then that plays into their game."
Junior Quarterback Chazz Anderson
"It all starts with the quarterback. It doesn't matter what the coaches call it's up to the players to make it happen. You have to make smart decisions in the red zone. They jumped D.J. and I should have seen it. You can't throw interceptions. You can't turn over the ball in the red zone period. It's on the quarterback."
Senior Running Back John Goebel
"It's tough. As a senior it is very hard. You never get any games back. It's hard to lose on homecoming, it's hard to lose at home. We just keep shooting ourselves in the foot and making mental mistakes. But the season is not over and we have to continue to go out there every day and win. It was tough. Syracuse was a good team. We have to go out there at practice and work hard to try to win the rest of the games."

"You want to be ready at all times. But when you give a good team the short field, even if you force them to a field goal it still kind of hurts you just by knowing by the position you are in you don't want to give up some kind of points. That's what we want to be better at. It's a disappointment we didn't play better on sudden change. But that is something we have to work on."

"It's real good to get our sixth win against a Cincinnati team that knows how to win. To leave here with our sixth win is a step in the right direction for our football team."
On Syracuse's defensive effort this week...
"There have been about four games this year where the defense has really stepped it up and held our opponents to a low score. That's a credit to them, especially in this day and age with offenses scoring a lot of points. They're playing well, and I don't think you can single any one person out on that defense. I think they're really playing well as a team. They're starting to create turnovers, and they're getting to the quarterback. We were able to go ahead off those turnovers and score some points. When you can do that, then you have an opportunity to win the football game."
On Derrell Smith's interception returned for a touchdown...
"I look at that play as a good play. A good play makes a play. That's a play in my mind. There were a lot of plays out there that you can look to. It was a game-changing play, and it helped with the momentum, but I think there were a lot of plays on the field that could be game-changing. But that was someone making a play, so we were very excited about that."
On Syracuse's execution today...
"Strategically, we went into the game, and we mixed some things up. We were able to go underneath and play with some coverage behind them."
On whether Cincinnati has a drop-off in offense receivers from last season...
"You would have to ask Cincinnati. I think both quarterbacks were excellent from where we looked at it."
On whether Syracuse had a different game plan for Chazz Anderson...
"We were just attacking Cincinnati's offense. We weren't attacking any particular player, and that's the truth."
On why Syracuse plays so well on the road...
"I don't know. I think it's a great question. The problem I have answering that question is that I kind of open it up a little bit. It's difficult to play at home sometimes. There are more distractions. In the NFL, we used to say that sometimes the ones that love you the most are the ones that distract you the most. I've dealt with that myself as a coach. It's probably a little bit more when you play a home football for everyone, and not just this football team. We just have to do a very good job this week of preparing, and getting ready to play a very good football team. We need to play well at home. It's important."
