PROVIDENCE, R.I. - For a record sixth time this season, University of Cincinnati senior volleyball player Stephanie Niemer (Erlanger, Ky./St. Henry) was named the BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Niemer had an overall .424 hitting percentage and averaged 5.00 kills per set in Cincinnati's three-set wins over IUPUI (Oct. 26) and Villanova (Oct. 31) this past week. The senior outside hitter posted her 11th double-double of the season (18 kills, 16 digs) against Villanova with a .552 hitting percentage. Against IUPUI, Niemer nearly had another double-double, racking up 12 kills and eight digs.

Earlier this season, Niemer became the first player in conference history to receive BIG EAST Player of the Week honors in five consecutive weeks (Sept. 13 - Oct. 11). Her six conference player of the week accolades in one season is also a BIG EAST record.

Cincinnati remains No. 21 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Coaches' Poll. UC has appeared in the poll the last seven weeks. It is the longest streak for a BIG EAST team since St. John's made 10 straight appearances in 2007.
