COLUMBUS - University of Cincinnati swimmer Liz Hansson competed in the 2010 AT&T Short Course National Championships from Dec. 2-4 at the Bill and Mae McCorkle Aquatics Pavilion on the campus of The Ohio State University in Columbus.

Hansson picked up an NCAA `B' qualifying time in the 200 backstroke with her 1:59.10 clocking. She placed 25th in the event. It is the third-fastest time in UC history, and Hansson's second-best career time. She also added a personal best time of 2:03.99 in the 200 IM, the third-fastest time in Bearcats history. Hansson also placed 34th overall in the 100 backstroke, with her effort of 56.20.

Two former Bearcats standouts were also in action in Columbus this weekend.

Former NCAA Champion Josh Schneider took fifth place in the 50 freestyle, clocking a time of 19.33. He was also part of the winning quartet in the 200-medley relay that set a meet record time of 1:25.12. Schneider is in final preparations for the 2010 FINA Short Course World Championships which will be held in Dubai, UAE from Dec. 15-19, 2010.

Jeremy Peter recorded a personal-best time in the 100 breaststroke, breaking the 55 second barrier for the first time with his 54.91 swim. Peter was a finalist in the 100 and 200 breaststroke as well as the 200 IM.
