Here's what's going on this week in UC sports:

  • The men's basketball team will host DePaul at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fifth Third Arena in the first BIG EAST match-up of the season for both teams. The game will be on ESPN3.com and on the radio on 700 WLW. The Bearcats then take on Seton Hall at 8 p.m. Friday in another BIG EAST game at Fifth Third Arena. This game will be televised on ESPN2 and on the radio on 700 WLW.
  • The women's basketball team will compete in the Maggie Dixon Surf `N Slam Classic in San Diego, Calif. this week. The first game for the Bearcats will be at 11 p.m. ET Tuesday against Texas. Cincinnati will then take on either Hofstra or San Diego on Thursday (times TBA). UC then returns home to host Miami (Ohio) at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fifth Third Arena.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

  • Student tickets for all January games will go on sale to the UC student body beginning on Thursday, Dec. 30 (online at www.CATSTIX.com). Students interested in attending any of the upcoming men's basketball games should act quickly on Dec. 30 to ensure that they are able to obtain tickets.

In case you missed it:

  • The men's basketball team remained undefeated after two more wins last week. The Bearcats defeated Miami (OH) last Tuesday, 64-48, in Oxford, Ohio. UC then beat St. Francis (Pa.) last Thursday, 94-58 at Fifth Third Arena. Cincinnati extended its season-opening win streak to 12. The last time the Bearcats were 12-0 was the 2003-04 season, when they won their first 13 games.
  • The women's basketball team defeated Marshall last Tuesday, 57-47, at Fifth Third Arena. The Bearcats snapped a four-game losing streak to improve their record to 6-4.
