CINCINNATI - Shareese Ulis (Toledo, Ohio/Trinity Valley C.C.) scored a game-high 20 points but the University of Cincinnati women's basketball team fell, 55-44, to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in BIG EAST action on Saturday afternoon at Fifth Third Arena.

Ulis shot 7-of-15 from the floor, including 5-of-8 from the three-point line, in her fourth 20-point performance of the season.

Rutgers (11-6, 4-0 BIG EAST) led, 30-20, at halftime after outshooting the Bearcats (8-8, 1-3), 44 percent to 28.

After falling behind by as much as 18 early in the second half, the Bearcats cut the lead to nine on a Ulis three with 5:34 to play, but the Scarlet Knights held on to stay unbeaten in conference play at 4-0.

Rutgers outshot the Bearcats, hitting on 45 percent from the floor to UC's 31 percent.

Ulis went one-for-one at the free throw line, hitting 24 of her last 27 free throw attempts and is averaging 17.0 points per game over her last seven games.

Tiffany Turner (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) led the Bearcats in rebounding, posting 8 boards to go with nine points. Bjonee Reaves (San Bernardino, Calif./Neosho) scored six points and Kayla Cook (South Webster, Ohio/South Webster) added five for UC.

Rutgers post duo of Monique Oliver (16 points) and Chelsey Lee (15 points, 10 rebounds) combined to shoot 14-of-22 from the floor and score 31 points. Kadijah Rushdan scored 16 on 6-of-11 shooting to round out the Scarlet Knights' double-figure scorers.

Defensively, the Bearcats held Rutgers' top scorer, April Sykes, to zero points on 0-of-6 shooting.

The Bearcats are next in action at St. John's on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at noon.
