CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team is preparing for the 2011 season using the Jefferson Avenue Sports Complex “bubble.” Among the many benefits of the indoor practice field are full-field scrimmages, a warm temperature, and field turf surface similar to the surface the Bearcats play on at their home games.
The 100-yard field transformed into an indoor practice facility thanks to an air-supported structure or "bubble" that was inflated over the field earlier this winter. The bubble maintains an interior ambient temperature between 50-60 degrees in the cold Cincinnati winter.
Cincinnati will begin lacrosse on the road, taking on Jacksonville in a noon game on Sunday, Feb. 13. UC’s first home game will be on Sunday, March 6, against Oregon in Nippert Stadium.
