CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- Two University of Cincinnati women’s soccer players earned All-Ohio honors from the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association. Seniors Sydney Barker (Roswell, Ga./Roswell) and Kendall Loggins (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) both were recognized.

“We are proud of both Sydney and Kendall for this very well deserved award,” said head coach Michelle Salmon. “As seniors they led by example and their play; being named to the All-Ohio team is recognition for their contributions to our program.  We are happy to see their efforts rewarded.”

Barker, a senior midfielder and two-year team captain, earned first-team honors. Barker added the award to her collection as she was voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District third team after the 2010 season. She earned a 3.59 grade point average as an aerospace engineering major and started 16 of UC’s 18 matches this season, scoring one goal on eight shots.

Loggins, a senior forward, helped guide UC to No. 19 and No. 15 rankings in the Soccer America Women's Top 25 poll in 2010, the first time since the 2002 season that UC cracked the Top 25. She was named to the OCSA second team. Loggins scored her first goal of her senior campaign at No. 16/23 Louisville. Two matches later, against DePaul, she scored her second goal of the season. She wrapped up her final match at Gettler Stadium with the game-tying goal on a penalty kick with 52 seconds remaining against Villanova.

The OCSA serves 49 Ohio colleges and universities at all three levels of NCAA affiliation and the NAIA. Voting was done by OCSA member coaches.
