CINCINNATI - Two University of Cincinnati men's soccer players, Brandon Stelmak (Broadview Heights, Ohio/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) and Sam Klosterman (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West), have been named to the all-Ohio Academic team, the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) announced. Stelmak was named to the all-Ohio Academic first team after two straight years as a second-team honoree, and Klosterman was named to the all-Ohio Academic second team.
Stelmak, a senior from Broadview Heights, Ohio, started 18 of 19 matches for the Bearcats at the forward position and finished tied for second on the team in assists with two. Stelmak, an operations management major, finished with a 3.37 grade-point average. He ends his UC career having played in 68 matches with nine goals and seven assists. This marks the third consecutive year that he has been recognized as an Academic all-Ohio performer.
Klosterman, a junior from Belleville, Ill., started all 19 matches for the Bearcats in 2010 at defender. The health sciences major finished with a 3.6 GPA in earning his first Academic all-Ohio team nod.
The Bearcats finished the season with a 7-5-7 record, including a 5-1-3 mark in BIG EAST conference play, and advanced to the semifinals of the BIG EAST Championship.
