CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati tennis team will begin the 2011 BIG EAST Conference season when it plays Seton Hall at Syracuse University on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m. The Bearcats will take on host Syracuse the following day, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m. Both matches will be played in the Drumlins Tennis Center.

Cincinnati is seeking its first win of the 2011 season after a week’s rest. The Bearcats last played on Saturday, Feb. 5, at Bowling Green, falling after a tough, 5-2 match. UC has played Seton Hall three times in the last five seasons. The Bearcats won, 4-3, in 2009, lost, 4-3, in 2008, and won, 4-3, in 2007. The Pirates are 1-2 this season and the match against UC will be their first BIG EAST opponent of the year as well.

UC has played Syracuse four times in the last five seasons and is seeking its first win against the Orange during that span. SU has a 4-1 overall record in 2011, losing its second match of the season at Maryland. The Orange is riding a 3-match win streak and plays Buffalo and Seton Hall prior to taking on the Bearcats Sunday.
