CINCINNATI - Season tickets for the University of Cincinnati baseball team are on sale now. The 2011 Bearcats begin their season Friday at the BIG EAST/Big Ten Challenge in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Cincinnati's 29-game home schedule features matchups against tri-state rivals Xavier, Miami (OH), and Dayton; the Joe Nuxhall Classic on April 12-13; as well as three-game series against BIG EAST foes and preseason top-25 ranked Louisville and UCONN.
"Attendance at Marge Schott Stadium continues to grow as more and more Cincinnatians fall in love with college baseball," UC head coach Brian Cleary said. "There is no better sports entertainment value in town. We look forward to welcoming a growing number of fans to Marge Schott Stadium this spring."
UC's Marge Schott Stadium was named the 'Best Baseball Stadium' in Cincinnati by CityBeat Magazine in March 2010. The state-of-the-art complex provides a distinct home field advantage for the Bearcats, who own a .637 (123-70 record) winning percentage at home since the stadium opened in 2004.
Season tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 years old and under, UCATS members, seniors 55 and older, UC faculty and staff.
The Bearcats open their 2011 home schedule with a 10-game homestand, beginning on March 4 against Youngstown State. Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-877-CATS-TIX or at www.CATSTIX.com.
